Big Clear Lake is approximately 6 (9.6km) miles long and between 3/4 (1.2km) and 1 1/2 miles (2.4km) wide at the west end of the Lake. From the Island eastward the structure is mostly rocky with small sandy areas in the back bays; Big clear lake is a spring fed lake; the water is prestine, and very clear, there are rocky shoals in some areas of the lake where the water is over 150ft deep. Most of the lake has a hard sand bottom; Great for swimming, the fishing is good, the lake is stocked with Bass, Pickeral and Pike. There are many islands and inlets on Big Clear Lake, The lake also has a public boat launch, Great for sailing, Canoeing and water Skiing.
